Carleton Heights/Fisher Heights/Parkwood Hills

Carleton Heights

Carleton Heights is quickly emerging as one of Ottawa's hotspots for new deveolpment and infill homes.  The community is home to numerous large parks has great access to downtown via Hogs Back and features some of Ottawa largest lots.

Where is it?

The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by Baseline Road and Fairchild Private, on the east by the Rideau River, on the south by the junction of Prince of Wales Drive and Fisher Avenue and on the west by the former Ottawa/Nepean municipal boundary. The neighbourhood is sometimes referred to as Hog's Back after the nearby falls.

What makes Carleton Heights Special?

If you are looking to build a large custom home with lots of privacy, Carleton Heights is one of the best locations in all of Ottawa. There are a lot of half acre lots with 80+ foot frontages, great for large bungalows. In recent years the lot prices have soared as demand for lots has increased substantially. The location is only 5 minutes to Westboro, and yet, you can purchase a lot twice the size.  The taxes in that area are also significantly lower. This area features a large canopy of mature trees, some of the largest parks in all of Ottawa and limited sidewalks. In fact, General Burns park is one of the best kept secrets in all of Ottawa.  It features three pools, including a diving pool, soccer field, and a great public tennis club. Carleton Heights also has a community centre which is adjacent to the Carleton Heights Curling Club and Carleton Heights Public School.
